Historical Trip + Coloring Doodle = Long Lasting Impression

It's been full of joy to get a trip, but spending penny on so-so trip just heard obvious less precious. By numbering calculation of stay accommodation, transportation, ticket of entrance, coin for street beggar, and any other possible fund are endless to talk. Wait, Escaping awhile from awkward calculation or you'll never get off.

Just pimp up your sight, every single venue you visit you notice something, even definitely exploring much more information from Tourist Information Center, friend, local settlement, or people around, are sort of the way you could add more value on your trip. Importantly just enjoy as cozy as possible, do not be mad for bad experience. Take it easy.

In addition, based on interest, I attempted to capture featured building/venue where I visited to emphasize the point of where people suggested to go. It aims to keep impression long lasting in the mean time convincing people to visit.

To be sincere, History class we may get in Elementary, Primary, Secondary or indeed College sometimes is not obvious to reveal what thing there is. For further, the only (in my opinion) way to make it works is by visit. Moreover we can get the breeze of historical/magical sense and exactly new experience. Visit it, then doodle it!

Just Ordinary Sketch

Just as returned after my last trip piecing into six posts (one, two, three, four, five, and six), do hope you won't be extorted to flip ever single piece. It's always gleaming over my (hidden) rash to story-telling experience, bad or good either, particularly trip or else aviation based. For this moment I've done it and you may check them out if you are interested.

But now I'd be more enthusiastic after brief-long on trip to capture it out into brushed paint. Delighting moment by its space and time have properly to be followed by a gift. Nonetheless I have no stuff but drawing work.

For my days in Jogja were splendid, so was Solo, I still owe the moment built by every single place, time, historical venue, and so lot stuffs there pimping my ways. Thus I here come to expose their exotic and valued appearance as you know they would be grateful you've kept on touch through emotion of appreciation in return.

Trip VI: Jogja-Jakarta [End]

Air Asia Flight

Eventually it's been the day of return to Bogor through Jakarta. Departing to Adi Sucipto International Airport at 10 am while my flight will be around 12.10 pm. I pass the security easily then making check-in. What a surprise, Air Asia has made a further step of self-check-in where we only push the screen at a small machine counter by following the instruction. It's cool! But no any longer yet it makes difficulties particularly for me since I don't really know they apply new term by its new system.

Usually I used to appear check-in desk then showing my ticket, the Boarding Pass will be given/printed soon. But today I have to pay for additional payment of Printed Boarding pass as much IDR 30,000 (USD 3*). The reason is that because I don't make prior printing of my boarding pass, and so did the ticket agent not give me that card as well as information of its new system. Geez! I have to make long debate though eventually I surrender due to having no choice. Printing the Boarding Pass by going outside the terminal building? No, impossible. In brief, they insist to force me paying for those additional fee or I won't fly! FYI, this term has been applied since September 2011, the AA officer says as she beefs about my ticket.

Then I pass toward Airport Tax point and once I have to pay (again) as much IDR 35,000. I just sometimes think seemingly the bureaucracy must be complicated if it's possible rather than easement. Wondering someday it will has been really more convenient.

In the waiting room, nothing I could do much but really what so-called waiting. The aircraft only has arrived but still (again) I face what delay is. Wait! I don't fully blame the airport/airlines system that making delay, but passenger themselves are considerably the reason to make delay. Here I find the fact that some of Lion Air passengers have just only been in waiting room as the aircraft really ready to close the door. I do appreciate the effort of the airlines to be on-time and seems it runs well as scheduled. But you know these passenger combat the departure due to their appearance just at the time as scheduled on the TV screen. Thus both airlines crew and airport officer have to permit them going aboard after poker face late. If only the crew would do, they can be terminated and having no right to fly due to their late. Passenger must be really responsible with time indeed not only blaming the crew/officer/airlines.

In flight, there's nothing I do but looking out the window and the flock of white cloud. And once I go to toilet in the mean time capture the stuff there. Air Asia toilet is clean enough and the cabin crews are helpful. I only see passenger most of them killing the time by taking flight nap.

Fortunately the sky is good and be landing an hour 10 minutes later in Soekarno Hatta International Airport right at Terminal 3 (T3). FYI, today flight by using Airbus A320 series.

Inside T3 building I juts pass through leaving Baggage Claim since I have no baggage. T3 looks lot of light and been able save energy. The contrast view here is that Air Asia is the only one single airlines operating. Initially the new Terminal purposed for LC Airlines, but since Mandala Air suffers bankruptcy, Air Asia plays it dominant access toward T3.

Now it's now being developed the aprons to ease passenger boarding to aircraft on second floor. FYI, Air Asia whole of its flight have been moved here both Domestic and International. In the other word, T3 belongs to Air asia. Or might be no longer applied for future since the aviation is striving to boom recently in Indonesia.

Trip V: Kaliurang

At Height Its Magic

Last day in Jogja before tomorrow really leaving for Bogor, my friend picks me up onto the height of the region. Northernmost over the peak of mounted land, Kaliurang is located the downhill of Merapi Mountain. It's about an hour to reach beautiful uphill scenery as decrement of temperature felt chilly. We attempt to hike by motorcycle as high as possible and around is cloudy.

We ride around looking for the point of Mbah Marijan (former elder of Merapi) but unfortunately having no direction. So we decide taking break enjoying special dish mostly found in Kaliurang: "Rabbit & Chicken Satay".

This final day is so brief, we lean over the downhill reaching capital Jogja. Kaliurang by its own culture is closely associated with the grandeur of Merapi and the obedience of the elder is so immense. Though the Mountain only located by near with settlement, we just see there's no worry to emerge the paranoid of disaster. Because they strongly believe their life is magically connected to the mountain, the robust and the keeper.

Here I'm going to share about museums in area of Borobudur which is defined into two, Borobudur Museum and Borobudur Ship Museum. I never expect before to trace the story that fascinates me immediately. As usual, museum is not popular venue for most Indonesian, I don't know the reason exactly yet it keeps untold remarkable story. The only thing to get access more into past and really experiencing how it was.

I slip into elementary school students group who make trip to Borobudur, definitely they put priority for museum. Little relieved getting real circumstance how the pupils are curious about, at least they will keep trip in mind how important to figure history out among modernization.

Well, Borobudur Museum collects stuffs dealing with temple property such as stupa, relief figures, and even micro-scale 3D appearance of the temple itself. Guess, almost none of visitor going by to these three part buildings, except foreign tourists and officer. I just whisper how they lost very useful information about relief in which telling us about the story. You may find out on internet but I swear you'll never feel the sense.

The second one, Borobudur Ship Museum. A place I visit by losing exit. I never imagine to go inside since I don't really know its existence. A fortune driven by this student group bringing me inside. At first time I pass the gate, I just see an old ordinary ship. But see what going on is actually. Herewith I quote information as printed on mini flyer:

Samuderaraksa-Borobudur Ship Museum

The making of the ship was based on the idea of Philip Beale, a former British Navy who was charmed b the beaut of the ship engraved on the wall of Borobudur Temple when he visited the temple 20 years ago. He was stunned and had thought that if the builder of the temple itself had already crafted the relief of the ship on the wall of Borobudur a century ago, then there must be the Indonesian ancestor having capability to sailing the ocean and made the wooden ship as well. After carrying out the expedition of Cinnamon Route to Africa in 2003 successfully, the ship was sent backto Indonesia in the condition of pieces in order to easier in transportation. When it arrived in Indonesia, the pieces of the ship would be rebuilt and set up in Ship Museum in Borobudur, which its name Samuderaraksa.

Samuderaraksa expedition is not ordinary yet challenging and priceful of value. The aim of expedition is to trace Indonesian ancestor route in the past glory which well known as Cinamon Route inspired by ship on the relief of the temple. Started from 15th August 2003 till 23th February 2004 thee route as following:

Borobudur (Java) - Benoa Port (Bali) - Seychelles - Madagascar - Cape Town (S.Africa) - St.Helena - Accra (Ghana)

If most of Story class discuss about Silk Route, Indonesian has to be more aware for the past as Cinamon Route also played significant role to connect the east to west which upheld the spreading of culture. It can be understood some Indonesia culture also influenced Madagascar and its race classification is close, Melanesia.

Completely these museums are really inspiring particularly to those whose passion in History, Cultural concern, Anthropogenic Studies and even any thing related. Last not least we could find the real sensation by visiting it directly not only fun but historical value.

Trip III: Borobudur Temple

Completing a night doesn't mean losing energy for next agenda. Yeah, today is my visit to Borobudur Temple. My friend is not available to accompany for his campus agenda, so I'll go along by alone trip. Going by bus in Jombor Station takes around an hour till destination. Borobudur is not situated under Jogja division but Central Java, District of Magelang. I pay for IDR 15,000 (USD 1.5*) one way then continue by walking. Easily people can find ojek or becak to connect bus station with temple area. But I'm not sort of interested in instead walking around 300 m is no matter.

Ticket of entrance is IDR 30,000 (USD 3*) including sarung batik wear since new regulation applies every single visitor to having wrapped by batik. A tour guide helps me to treat sarung. Looks good it covers my pants with Batik.

Borobudur Temple has been rgistered as World Heritage No 592. been one of 7 world wonder though today it is not listed yet. It still keeps its glorious remnant since the stone structured building established far year 800s AC under Syeilendra Dynasty. Talking about its story is endless, even relief is not that fully been able translated to figure its grandeur out in the past. The scenery is awesome but its existence after thousand year more must be incredible. It's so magical.

The stone structure is posed inside museum in which component of the temple. Few were placed here after reconstruction and treatment. The past glory still remains though time has been running faster over its age.

Trip II: Jogja Charm of Night

Yeah, this sunny noon signs my arrival in Meguwo Station located right inside airport area. My friends picks me up by motorcycle riding sultry road. I stop for lunch then taking a rest. Waiting for another friend comes to pick me up (again), a red cover book seduces my sight to flip it around. Authored by Prof.Rhenald Kasali titling "Myelin: Mobilisasi Intangibles Sebagai Kekuatan Perubahan" year 2010 (Gramedia Pustaka Utama Publishing), or roughly translated into "Myelin: Intangible Mobilization As Change Power" (not fully completed red). Even though my trip doesn't aim for books instead preciously I prefer for knowledge feed ones. Sounds weird my friend says, but I've just completed a book authored by Bong Chandra "Unlimited Wealth", fascinating ones during a night in Solo.

Well, let's continue for expedition. The first night looks flasher than Solo since Jogja booms faster. Gathering with my secondary school mate, we decide for coffee night at Kedai Kopi Espresso Bar. Fortunately this place offers free Wi-Fi to visitor so I can browse till night drop.

It's almost mid night but we are still on the road, turning around the city and definitely hanging out over Malioboro Street an iconic long road where people are flocking crowd.

I don't get many agendas this first day after a tiring noon. Just surprisingly my eyes shoot unique road sign over the street in almost everywhere else in this city. A bicycle zone for terminated light traffic. I see the way of culture on the road every single rider (machined or manual) has the same right and priority. Tidily it works and making convenience. One thing must be copied in Jakarta or Bogor.

Trip I: Solo, The City of batik

I've been back after brief 6 day-trip and be dropping on posting as I promised. Well, I started as departure to Soekarno Hatta International Airport at 9 am from Bogor expecting having no late. Though my flight actually is at 12.50 pm in which seriously almost nothing is sure be departing as printed on the ticket.

Batavia Air has been parking in Terminal 1 (T1) part C after extending occupation of Lion Air by size of flight to 1A and 1B. This noon flight is so busy, landing and taking off, as well maintenance of aircraft flocking the airport. I decide to go to open up floor where people can watch the bustle and attempting a piece sketch.

At 10.30 am I just pass security line for check-in then heading to waiting room. Hold on, in every single civil airport in Indonesia passenger is burdened as much IDR 40,000 (USD 4*) or else IDR 25,000 (USD 2.5*) depending on class of airport. For SHIA the first option is passenger's. I do expect someday we could fly without any longer airport tax.

My boarding pass directs me to meet the Gate 6 for Solo destination together with other passenger to Palangkaraya at that time. Been waiting for that almost 2 hours felt tiring, in addition Batavia Air officer announce for an hour delay. Geez! The second time I fly with BA and both are always faced by delay. In terms of "Delay" has vastly been acknowledged for some Indonesia Low Cost Airlines particularly after early morning flight.

Ok, as the aircraft ready, all passengers are pleased going on board. It will be 1 hour 15 minutes flight, but see no one really know today flight experiences toughening fly due to unwell weather. Looked so cloudy thereby the aircraft has to fly around over the city sky for some minutes before really landing. To be honest I'm little nervous at height for its shaky flight but fortunately the pilot is well-trained enough and so are stewardess. Thing that I'd love with Batavia Air is cabin crew is professional enough and the way of pilot drive the sky. I just don't be doubt since EU safety standard awarded Batavia Air "Category 1" and I realize it really works.

Now been at Exit Gate and approaching over Information Center for Trans Solo Batik route. For hospitality and informative crew, Solo is far better than Jakarta. No worry having travel here due to convenient service. FYI, a ticket to central Solo priced IDR 7,000. Here in Solo now.

Though, I only have 2 days here (arrival day and tomorrow) before taking over Jogja. Thus tonight my friend picks me to enjoy the soul of Solo. I admire tidy transportation and their obedience. Not sure I say this such flashing light but obscure lamp pimping the street off revealing its so Javanese icon. Back to the past we still can feel how Solo was.

Tomorrow, I'll be departing to Jogja by Prameks 11 (name of train) at 12.40 pm via Meguwo Station. Surprisingly it departs as scheduled on-time. Hmh,,, I guess city in Java is more discipline than Jakarta.

End of Exam: Holiday Plan

These recent two weeks were bunch of time for studying and pressing this little brain to remind every single subject. From numerical graphs and formulas till magical paragraphs, all of these were around my mates, but merely for two weeks. I'll be side of you next semester (again).

Well, I've been so long on confusing decision for this holiday plan after splitting spooky exam. Selayar Island, Bengkulu, Palembang, Lampung and other hilarious places were listed already. Eventually I just put it on two main cities: Yogyakarta (Jogja) and Solo. Sounds so-so for I visited Jogja for some time though Solo is merely once. The idea of making those cities my destination is just so simple, as the airlines fares to/from Solo/Jogja fascinated me.

I was just as usual dropping by on every airlines website, fooling around the mouse, and attempting every possibilities. Geez! Air Asia Indonesia offered its low fare from Jogja to Jakarta. Hurry I made a booking but what a freak, my card was denied. Eventually I just reserved through ticket agent with slightly higher different fare. The thing that I'm not curious about, I prefer to make my own booking. Ok, return ticket had been already grabbed!

Rambling over labyrinth of my head of confusing transportation I would go by to the destinations. Bus or Train or Airplane? The decision fell down to the last one. I just came back from Jogja few months ago by bus and I was done brown by annoying ticket scalper. What a freak trip at that time! Later I considered Train, but guessing it's not safe enough though for lonely trip. I did almost a year ago to Solo by Very Economy Train fro 12 hours from Jakarta Kota Station, it was funny due to my crazy friends were all inside. But don't let me explain how strange inside when you really see around you. Thus, my choice is the last one, airplanes. Though, initially the price offered was quite high for Jogja sector, immediately I attempted for Solo. To reach Jogja from Solo is not that far indeed I could do more by making new route by my own way. Very fortune! Batavia Air came out with its lowest price promo ticket to Solo from Jakarta. Definitely I made a booking readily then making payment through ATM center. I just love Batavia Air Payment system, very convenient! Thumbs up!

Ok, these two tickets were printed, and now just pray and wish joyful thing along my trip. I'll be back with experiences there.

(Owned) Future: Timeless Struggle

Making 'people' is not by surgery, pimping up their face instead of mind. Everyone, in almost, start up the first step by mostly nothing to go scrabbling then. In the middle of running the depiction of struggled face written over the eye bag. Weighed down for sleepless thought though spare time sometimes retains the break but not much.

Here is the place of attempt of my framework in which means two things, the design of my art work and thorough life. Perhaps at very early time when I went into this system (read: University) to be honest I never tried to make exaggerated wish. Today seems it just still goes so-so, nothing is that so awesome in part of mine though some peeps say I've just changed even slowly, haven't I?

Well, I just began like others, having first class then doing assignments, exams, little breaks, and things seemingly unusual turning out an habit or daily motion. An adaptation is highly required or fading away. The first year grader had to live in dormitory and time just went by so fast. Everybody came with their own ego initially but a year later some changes were really there. A friend is true as well as family here because most having nothing but friend. Yeah, that's all made by story as the system expected.

Becoming a sophomore was the point of beginning to adapt into wider and more diverse circumstance. Sometimes crossing in my mind thing just looked different every single graded-up turn. I just got into the real major after a year multi-cultural practice, re-attempting basic knowledge, class of beginner. As senior said, "welcome to the new height of your struggle!". This is part of loaded next hub. So just going on through!.

Just 2 years passed away and now half of the third grade. Ow, yesterday was December afterward turning New Year on January, but now snow remark, just Rain on December then still falls down in torrent by dropping January. How fast!

So figuring out tomorrow and the day after tomorrow and then seems blurred. But these things done so far means a lot, doesn't it? Though still questioned when the day of advance come by, or just going on progress unknownly, who knows? The only thing to do is that enjoying every single step toward and making backward to prop up the overlined way. In the other word, Show Must Go On!

JAL Tokyo-Jakarta route parks at Narita Airport

Well, I started from how this connection begun. Indonesia, particularly Jakarta point had officially served flight to Japan in 1962 operated by Garuda Indonesia to Tokyo. Indonesia-Japan routes has passed the wave of change by number of flight or even stopping operation. Since the world of aviation is highly dependable to any certain both country circumstances as well as the business atmosphere and financial stability that of airlines.

Indonesia-Japan routes connected two cities in Indonesia (Jakarta and Bali) to three cities in Japan (Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya). In addition Fukuoka was the former city signed the connection between two countries. Meanwhile Jakarta is the most attractive route to Tokyo , Denpasar Bali successfully attracts visitor from other cities in Japan such as Nagoya and Osaka including Tokyo as well.

Visitors from Indonesia to Japan or vice versa today have three choices of direct flight between two countries. They are served by Garuda Indonesia, Japan Airlines, and All Nippon Airways (ANA). Meanwhile Denpasar Bali-Japan routes are still played by single player, Garuda Indonesia to Narita Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya since withdrawing of JAL and ANA from God island.

Japan Airlines

Financial crisis suffering JAL also implicates to cutting its route to Indonesia. Denpasar Bali route has been suspended to connect Tokyo and Osaka as October 1st 2011. Fortunately Jakarta is still served by JAL till today. But the most surprising thing for me is that upon the elimination route to Bali, JAL striving to attract this only one route in Indonesia by operating its B777-300ER livery with a new freshly tag line "To the New Height of Luxury". This triggering ads has placed Jakarta together with three cities in US such New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles as barred on its official website.

I just got my fortune after few months this program run to fly with JAL to Narita Tokyo (here). I realized this aircraft has been developed its range. The Economy class set at the upper end the narrowed body. Reaching my seat took times passing over executive seasons and premium economy class. Meanwhile first class is set the front-most within the cabin.

All Nippon Airways (ANA)

Though ANA has just involved in this sector not long time since its withdrawing, but it seems ANA successfully attracts visitor since it (mostly) states lower price than JAL ones. Jakarta-Tokyo sector is operated with B767, however I highly expect ANA will soon replace that kind of livery with its B787-Dreamliner. It sounds fascinating I guess. But Denpasar Bali route has not opened yet. I just do hope ANA will come back again to God island as Ngurah Rai Airport accomplished its new terminal for booming tourism in the island.

Garuda Indonesia

By the most upcoming year 2012 it will be the 50th year of Garuda Indonesia retains its existence in Japan. Bali is the the major hub of Garuda to fly passenger to Japan. In fact, Japan is the most potential destination for Garuda which can be seen by number of flight and cities served by this national airliners. The Garuda Experience quantum leap program has given wider opportunity, by April 2012 GIA will soon launched its Tokyo-Haneda route from Denpasar Bali. In terms of focus city, Denpasar is more promising than Jakarta for passengers in this route since Bali is the key of Indonesia tourism. In addition, passenger from Japan who wish to go to Australia can fly with Garuda with stopover in Bali.

Future Opportunity

These three airlines are good and more than adequate. Denpasar is promising for Tourism meanwhile Jakarta is more attractive for business purpose. The Indonesia growing economy is expected to enliven more and more aviation world particularly Indonesia-Japan sector since the two countries are bonded in very attractive investment. Seems, there is other airlines having soon operated between this route. I just hear Lion Air master plan route will include Japan as their destination. This most growing budget airlines has just made an surprising transformation by becoming the most B737-900ER user. If Lion Air will play its business into Japan sector, there must be very competitive choice. Who knows?

It's always nice and fascinating for me to share you (again) about airlines, airports, or any thing dealing with aviation and travel. Very exciting to have opportunity exploring beauty of many places over the world, especially Indonesia. My previous post about an experience with Garuda Indonesia taken place at the point of departure at Selaparang Airport Lombok (AMI) seems being never repeated again. The reason is since the the airport has been replaced by the new Lombok Internationa Airport (LOP), the existed one has just closed for commercial transportation.

LOP is just very fresh located in Central Lombok Regency, supported by DAMRI bus (Government owned) connecting Mataram to the airport. The official inauguration was at 10 am on October 1st 2011 as landed by 737-800NG Garuda Indonesia. The airport built to answer huge demand of high capable airport to load fast growing number of passenger as well as bigger airlines type. In addition it aims to boost much powerful transportation as basis to meet necessary in order expanding tourism in the region, The Visit Lombok Sumbawa.

Though LOP has just played its activated status in world of aviation but beyond my expectation it soon becomes booming. I always maintain to keep updated current information about airlines which operate there. Very recently there will be three direct international routes including the existed Silk Air to Singapore. The remaining ones are Nordwind Airlines to Novosibirsk-Tolmachevo, Russia (seasonal) and Batavia Air to Kuala Lumpur. Flight to Russia is very good expansion particularly for Indonesia market. Currently merely Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) Bali serves the Red Bear country routes meanwhile Jakarta still has no any direction to go forward.

For domestic flight, it will be landed by Sky Aviation as well as Merpati to bring passenger to Surabaya continued to Kuala Lumpur. Merpati always consistently focuses its service in Middle and Eastern Indonesia region. The Jakarta-Lombok routes, Lion Air is inevitably the biggest player based on number of daily flight meanwhile Garuda Indonesia is still the only full service airlines. Its subsidary Citilink also plays in this shared market for short Denpasar-Lombok routes picking up connected international flight passenger for Garuda Indonesia as well as domestic target.

Since Facebook introduced few years ago, most people would be agree it has become the most booming social network worldwide. Facebook users has hit fantastic number reaching 800 million as September 2011 as released by Mashable.com .

Facebook in Indonesia

Placing the country as forth most inhabitant in the world doesn't really mean Indonesia can't gain more record, Indonesian on Facebook occupy 40.8 million of total users or at rough 5% Facebookers are Indonesian. Now the country ranks #2 position of Facebook user by amount as currently released by Socialbakers.com .

Away from record, the fact behind tells more how Facebook deeply influences behavior and internet responsibility that of netizen. Some 7.5 millions Facebook users were under 13 years old meanwhile around 5 millions were under 10 years old, Consumer Reports said.

But I have no finding of exact statistical data figuring violation of Facebook terms and policy by authorized law regarding to underage user case in Indonesia. The profound Facebook facts in my country is about amount occupy, the second one though still biased is that teen under 18 (mostly girl) abused by intensive convince violated by someone else stranger through Facebook. The victim go off the home and approaching stranger ignoring parent advice.

My Student Case

Though this seems particular outliers of some Facebook cases, but I think the following case is proper to be concerned. This morning as usual biweekly teaching voluntary in elementary school I and other members of ICSF do our schedule. About an hour class I'm glad they pay attention on my instruction to elaborate solution of Global Warming through visual art work, they draw their ideas on plain paper then I gather their work aftermath.

But before the class dismissed, I attempt to conduct small research on behavior of my student regarding to internet. The reason is just basic, initially I intend to encourage them looking for some beneficial information on internet out of common method practiced by their teachers. It has become so convenient to help them learning their subjects beyond the book or general explanation. They deserve to get accessible information profoundly.

By consider, the school located in suburb area but internet cafe are flocking anywhere over the way since their settlement surrounding my campus area. And what a surprising about more than half of my students are active Facebook user though considerably they are around 9-10 years old. I knew as I ask them to put their email and Facebook account behind their drawing. Nothing against COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) I conduct this research to bear the fact and finding my students behavior, for their development observe.

Me : "Anyone here using Facebook?"

Some Students : "I am! I have registered for Facebook, and now I'm using Facebook"
Me : "How many time do you usually log on Facebook?"
Some Students : "Once a week (mostly), sometimes two times in one week!"

Some Students : "Socialize with other classmate"
Me : "How long do you log on Facebook?"
Some Students : "2 hours in most, or 2.5 hours"
Me : "Ok, how old are you now?"
Some Students : "I'm 9"
Some Students : "I'm 10"
Me : "Well, anyone knows here, Facebook regulation, the user must be at least 13 years old. Have you ever heard about?"
Some Students : "I have no idea, but it's not a big deal. I only go on with Facebook and nothing wrong is happening. And so, why do they constrain the user?"
Me : "Because it's international rule, and the protection for children is must. And because you are children"
Some Students : "So far we don't have problem by using Facebook, indeed we only use it for online games. And we don't log on Facebook daily, just sometimes. Everything is Ok"

Excavating that fact is not difficult, but facing the fact with solution is not easy. To be honest, till now I have no endowing notion to constrain them on Facebook if I go with the law. The case is quite different. Whoever can't immediately prohibit, instead their parents don't know (in my assesment) the terms and condition in which whether their children are prohibited or not by using Facebook. Some parents don't take concern on internet utilization for their children. Children by themselves access internet on Cyber cafe by purchasing only IDR 2,000/hour ( USD 0.2 or 20 cents, assuming 1 USD = IDR 10,000).

Some others add me "Friend Request" on my Facebook account though none of them I approve yet. I have to dive their intention first, but I make deal with them before, we can contact through Facebook since we can't meet intensively to discuss their subject. Not for other purposes.

For uncertain temporarily time I suppose them are allowed for Facebook since they utilize for educational purpose, doesn't matter with games but they still need to be responsible with their education. They are highly suggested to share informative stuff, not limited through Facebook, but they can browse on other websites.

That's the case I investigate directly, I guess the terms and policy may be studied more adapted to certain social circumstance. We can't generalize all of any condition for diversely anthropogenic behavior. But united regulation internationally is proper to be kept.

.... Buried for Years

A couple days ago when I made an immediate plan for library visit, a rare thing I ever did recently since internet shifts my way. So many shelves, so many people were blowing into their reading and some of piled up assignments over the desk. I didn't go into the way of mostly people having been but directing to certain shelf as clued by integrated computerized system.

After checking some titles by recommended keyword crossing in mind, the decision fell down to an oldy good looking without any figure on the cover, looks so-so. Titled : "Southeast Asia Tomorrow: Problems and Prospects for US Policy" by Melvin Gurtov. I have no reason why I put that book, just a random. In general it reveals the back past years about the US presence and influencing policy in region of SE Asia emphasizing Vietnam as major core of subject. Later extending into Malaya and surely Indonesia.

I haven't finished my book yet till I blogged, but I have another fact to be shared. Realizing that the book had been kept for 13 years is so surprising. The last submission for borrow stamped '23 SEP 1998' meanwhile the first entrance was '26 Dec 1978' the day after Christmas and so was the day of former India PM Indira Gandhi released from jail.

I'm just still curious how the book was for long time keeping without borrowing.

The Cross Breeding Subject

Today class is not that so attractive for most students, I know since my friends attending 8 am starting subject some show their 'poker face'. Written over the way of they scratch confusing numerical-graphical-might not fantastical depiction of what the lecturer reveals. Personally, it might be happening to me but luckily I save my falling interest by catching every slide intendedly. The reason is that I've been little bit curious of the streaky method explained. That's a simple notion but enough keeping me focus.

It's Climatological Method class. Sounds fizzy for its 2 hours long. The basis of that subject is descendant from Statistics, in simplified way I call "Son of Statistics" in which focusing on most spoken issue "Climate Change" for specified term through unexpected way for layman whose bustle tongue to echo they don't really know about. Here we play bunch of data then treat them into predictions or forecast by selecting many variant methods. The core is the method itself. Thing that we need to learn for a semester supported by previous fundamental statistics we've already got during previous semester.

But the point I'm going to pour here is not that what my subject really is. I've been kept it on my note instead of my more curiosity on science family and its story. I went through Wikipedia page few days ago coincidentally found there are only two ancestors of science in the past: Philosophy and Mathematics. Today subjects we find in some schools/colleges/universities are the consequences of human curiosity to develop the notions of those necessaries borderlessly mind. And the class I've attended this morning is one of those descends. Like we trace our family members are what sciences alike.

The most exciting thing for me is that the cross breeding between some sciences particularly in which they have less relation. Yeah, but it' not like you treat your cattle, or sort of. Why do I think it would be benefit? For simple way but complex enough I feel something wrong is happening by not modifying soon the way of science mostly practiced around me (in Indonesia).

Taking some humanities studies then breed them with exacta (numerical) studies. The problem now is many students constrain themselves to pursue overwhelming sort of subjects. Sometimes they only focus on certain subject without attempting to connect to other studies.

I personally catch the problem what most mass media published about year ago. Political studies take part of the behavior every regulation bargained by stake holder. At that time, the president SBY planned for uncommon decision regarding to regulation of Specialty of Yogyakarta. Many reactions emerged over the remaining sultanate. The atmosphere obviously changed at that time and people went down the street for protest. Media took apart but unfortunately sometimes the publications were not fair. It belonged to certain party. The solution become terminated instead of helping to discover problem solving. This is part of Sociological Studies, the involvement of balanced Mass Media Studies must had striking back the problem.

But obviously it's not that enough. I had travel with my team mates to Solo (name of city in Central Java) for our organization congress. Actually there was seminar dealing with agricultural studies, but later it extended to criticism of previous case I talked above. One or two lecturers made opposing argument toward president statement dealing with Remarkable Economy Growth and Decreasing of Poverty of this Nation based on statistical data. Since they complained with previous plan that of President regarding to Yogyakarta Sultanate. Though it was in Solo, but to be reminded Solo and Yogyakarta are both sibling. The influence of Sultanate still remains high till today. It also influence the behavior of its faiths. In this case, Statistics plays major role to overcome but unfortunately it has been underlined and highlighted for something misleading in which obviously noticed by some educated people.

Here in my humble opinion the breeding of science is still lacking. To create mutual understanding sometimes we have to require bigger energy to classify the problem based on the best approach. Particular science in addition may be good solution to be applied. Or indeed furthermore to legalize 'children' of science as consequence of breeding may become newly fresh breakthrough.

In this term, I just made a joke with my class mate during fuzzy class this morning that there might be presenting these new form of subjects:

- SocioStatistics
- Anthropological Statistics
- Statistical Journalism

If those terms have already applied in some countries/universities there might be good forwarded fresh air to blow into scientific world in this nation but still retaining simplified application to society through balanced mass media, the key and most influential. Sometimes we are tired with confusing news and circumstance of this country.

Visit Indonesia Mengajar and @America

Last Saturday (26 November 2011) I just had a visit after a week-before enrollment for an event ICC Goes To External by IAAS LC-IPB to head for Indonesia Mengajar Headquarter and @America at Pacific Place South Jakarta. Participants departed from IPB campus at 7 am and has disembarked at IM (Indonesia Mengajar) headquarter first. The staffs welcomed us warmly then pleased to have sits for discussion. We didn't take any chair nor was round table discussion, but relaxing on the clean floor (very Indonesian way) covered with leather carpet.

The plenary opened with some speeches but eventually the discussion has just really begun some minutes later. I just still wonder someday we have less opening speeches rather than the core of discussion. Or else modifying some of those common ways practiced into varying appearance.

First presentation from IM Head of External and Public Affairs, Pak Israr revealed background behind existence and commitment IM was conducted and being widely paid by hilarious attention that of 'fresh graduate'. A brief summary of his presentation is as following:

IM was founded based on hard swiftly desire to give more, present more, contribute more, brought by high responsibility of this educational circumstance of this nation. Elementary education in which is very basic and more attractive to trigger future that of pupil as the first step to move on further, unfortunately in some areas particularly remote areas within this nation is adequate or less.

The fundamental problem of basis encouraging elementary education particularly are two cases, "Quality" and "Quantity". Education surely would be terminated for awhile and they don't get any lesson along the way they go home.

The preambule of Indonesia Constitution 1945 clearly declares that "...to give birth nation's intellectuals" is one of basis compiled by founders of this nation inspired by importance of becoming well-educated country. It's been 66 years since this country proclaimed its Independence from colonialism, stupidity, retarded, and poverty and many more pains. They definitely didn't want the darkness put its cursed possibility on appearing to this country in hell someday.

Thus, initiated by Dr. Anis Baswedan (currently as Rector of Paramadina University) and other colleagues to make a leap program called Indonesia Mengajar recruiting best fresh graduate students over this nation to be sent to designated places spreading over archipelagos assisting schools through very breakthrough ways for a year long.

Pengajar Muda is term for selected graduate whose missions are on their arm to lighten up the candle. It's such a challenging life for year to survive, to serve, and to understand deeply what they really have to do.

Nothing is that so precious rather than to give our contribution to society. "To educate is duty belonging to educated people".

STOP CURSING THE DARKNESS, START LIGHTING UP THE CANDLE!

Very impressive notions and so triggering. It has opened our eyes wider we need to make an action right know. Additionally an amusing sharing by a Pengajar Muda Batch 1 who has passed a year on duty in a remote school in East Borneo. Extending the program now IM is going to place Pengajar Muda in border zone of this country every odd number of Batch session.

Eventually the last destination was a heading to @America where a central of US culture center offering some services from education till entertainment with high technology facilities. Everything there is digitally displayed and informing visitors by very different ways. Nice place and comfort :)

SEA Games XXVI Palembang Indonesia

It was contradictory to escape from dispute of questioned Indonesia's preparation to host biggest biennial sport event in ASEAN region South East Asian Games (SEA Gamecs) by the year 2011. Looking back few months ago when we (most Indonesian) were accustomed served by 'embarrassing news' of corruption scandal shadowing whether the games will be held or postponed. The last choice was definitely unexpected, what a relieved circumstance it is not happening now.

Till the last minutes before Opening Ceremony in Jakabaring Stadium in Palembang was really started, we never expected much instead of Indonesia would run it ordinarily then going into the games tomorrow. But we were almost wrong. Our notion was immediate spinning into relieved fresh air how great they treat it. Some fireworks and laser played over the night with colorful performance beneath. Thousand dancer, children formation, and the region's divas caught million eyes. We were stunned!

Live opening ceremony on TV is not that enough. I browsed on YouTube and find out an auxiliary member uploaded entire series of view on his account. Getting gather with friends we prove how amazing it is. I just still wonder how people then immediately changed. They (Indonesian) know every single day was not benevolent during preparation. They've just already put pessimism on this event but later might be another story.

I was pulled on to see the world perceive on the opening ceremony inevitably bad news was spreading in few days before. The second time I was surprise they gave high appreciation of stunning ceremony regenerating my blooming optimism Indonesia "Together Yes We Can Give" as blown over the stadium Joy Tobing sang a song composed by the president SBY.

France24.com reported three times of SEA Games with complete chronology but they needed to recognize Firework and Laser blasted the ceremony leaving for scandal behind. Some praises came from little neighboring Singapore while precedent daily (StraitsTimes) shared their happiness the grandest ceremony ever since the games introduced many years ago. Even more Vietnam, Cambodia, and Philippines published to their people of a miracle one night when people only see an amusing performance.

When other countries do their appreciation of hardworking the Indonesian masterpiece to compose the event, our people need to evolve more than a praise. Therefore massive support and helpful optimism would become great power beyond merely a praise for a stunning night. We are still required for further. The games is till running and till I posted here thankfully Indonesia still collect the most medal. My highest gratitude to all athletes, committee, and people who always support of successful 26th SEA Games Palembang with its co-host city Jakarta.

Organized by Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science, Bogor Agricultural University, "Pesta Sains Nasional 2011" paid by huge attentions those of high school student particularly coming from merging developing region JABODETABEK (Jakarta Bogor Depok Tangerang Bekasi) additionally some from varying origin over Java, Sumatra, Bali, even Kalimantan and others uncounted here. Pesta Sains is a program arranged by students in Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science under supervision from lecturer in regarding faculty. This is annual program purposing to introduce Departments under faculty in the mean time attracting high school student by ordering choice for them the educational service in Bogor Agricultural University (particularly intended faculty) as their future education institution through scientific competition.

At least there are eight departments differed as many as number of competition which every student only points one of amongst out. The department taking participation are as following :

Here is where we can see students from varying state school in rural or urban, private school with religious background, Christian school or Islamic school, indeed boarding school with their little more straight rule yet common school. They really reflect pluralism in this country but once resembles uniqueness and colorful mind.

Though lot of students flock over this precedent agricultural campus, only few of them take their praise as their name announced to achieve the highest point excelling other participants. The pride doesn't belong to them only but their school or moreover their region. Hope through their insight someday, any triggering development become more obvious and advance.

Last March I just got a fortune to have a travel to Sakura country Japan (here). Though earthquake hit northeastern island by the day I left for Jakarta but at least I came back with 'another story'. Well, as arrived in Narita Airport, we (me, friends, and lecturers) headed to capital Tokyo subsequently ready boarding to Niigata by Shinkansen.

Actually that was my first time going by iconic advanced Japan transportation after around eight-hour flight with Japan Airlines (the logo is now changed -Nipponia nippon- than the previous one). But see, Shinkansen personally for me is beyond merely high-speed mass rapid trains, it kept me a properly reminded experience over its running.

A piled menu list turning a book was pleased on every seat that of passenger. I took one to look around what thing was inside. But geez, I was excited upon flipping a page figuring a glass coffee followed beneath small Indonesia flag インドネシア. Red-white square figures where product comes from.

I traced some Japanese text how much the price. It's so expensive (particularly for mid-low like me). And yeah, It was not affordable, however it's awesome. Still raising my pride Indonesian products are not adequate nor even priceless. They still retain high-quality products and being amongst luxurious imported stuffs.

The year of 2009 signed an important celebration for long time waiting eventually Batik has recognized as "Intangible Cultural World Heritage". I just drew a sketch to express celebrated nationwide. Over the street of the country were likely to bloom some motifs poured down. Even in my campus we had to wear Batik as appreciation to Indonesia culture indeed foreign students didn't miss the chance to practice.

The year of 2011 becomes the 2rd year celebration. Indonesian youth are about curious to show their outfit Batik is the most suitable ever for many purposes. Batik has been dragged into fashionable world over cultural symbol. Furthermore it takes part in business sector promoting the real Indonesia. For instance, Garuda Indoensia stewardess appear with their Batik Gondosuli pattern pimping up on board.

Such beyond cultural expression, Batik comes to identify every single Indonesia citizen the thing they still have. Exactly they have to be proud of it.

Taking place at Graha Widya Wisuda (GWW) the main building of occasion ceremony mostly, the 2011 ISEE (International Scholarship Education Expo) re-held to turn. The opening sounded by a semi-Japanese culture (I call for its not real Japanese traditional culture performance) a band consisting influenced modern Japanese youngster of Indonesian. They sing some manga sound-tracts including renown Doraemon. Though performance coming from young Indonesian but they were successful to get audience into the flow. People were giggling sometime as they acted such childish rhythm.

Then a performance by Malaysian students whose holding IPB official card representing their home country. It's sort of a traditional dance revealing rural harvesting ceremony from Sabah (Eastern Malaysia). With blacky outfit, it looked suitable when some couple dancer sappeared on pair front performance.

The host came with Sundanese traditional dance (West Java) back-grounded by traditional music instrument played by some students. It'similar to Gamelan but little bit beat-rhythm. Looked many people staged on grandstand.

The middle-eastern performance followed as Indonesian culture accomplished its turn with desert dance and some whipped feet stuck. They jammed through music blow over the stage with veiled outfit.

Next was turn of far Europe expression from Netherland about seven girls with dairy outfit appeared like 'dairy milk commercial'. They danced and played around the stage as making tidy formation. Eventually hugged hand to link each dancer signing the end.

The audience was then brought into far east Asia, China when a Chinese music group broke the quiet out. Bamboo material music instrument flied blowing harmonious hearing recalled me to few years ago when I was child some Chinese drama dominating TV show. The singer has upper average quality and being able covering the circumstance.

The last but not least was Korean culture performance showed Korean traditional dance, Buchaechum. I think this is the best performance as the dancer played Korean fan and forming very good-looking random row. And circle combination was more alike flower blossom feature.

Eventually as all performance had showed off unique culture from some countries the night was closed.

I've been more stunned since me and my friends first day on hectic class at the day we started our program, PILH (Pendidikan Iklim dan Lingkungan Hidup) - Environment and Climatic Education- a flask in which we take part in. We met fresh fifth elementary grader at three schools respectively on Saturday every once two week. We are associated in ICSF (Indonesian Climate Student Forum) to concern on environment and climate through education.

We made a dealt with headmaster on three schools we focus to attempt sharing with these young generation. SDN 1, SDN 3, and SDN 4 Dramaga Bogor are our school base we do voluntary activity as teacher and friend that of them. I personally as coordinator take responsibility ensuring the program has been run well and definitely the objective of class learning successully delivered.

We apply quite different method in learning which we point out semi-formal learning system. It belongs to combination of games, video, class discussion, presentation, study case, problem solving encouragement, and others. Fortunately by the end of class time they look so happy and interested in. It's a blast for us we still have chance to share with our junior and let us know indeed the world of children we've passed that phase few years ago.

The Garuda Indonesia Experience

After many days spent off in Sumbawa, my time has just ended up. I need to go back to Bogor through stop in Lombok. My return trip would fly me with different flag carrier rather than my arrival. It must be with Garuda Indonesia.

At 3.30 am as the bus stopped at its pool base, my eyes tent to insist close down. It's too early morning. So I decided having rest till breakday.

At 5 am the taxi has just arrived and readily brought me to the airport. It's hectic day there were lots of passenger though size of airport load is still less. I entered the gate, then making check-in. I asked the GA desk officer to upgrade my mileage and geez It's submitted. I got 28F seat. Then going toward praying room before entrance of waiting room.

Well, 30 minutes wait before flight. Capturing traffic of passenger and looking around shop, but no buy, my money is not enough.

My sight shot over an aircraft taxing front-left side, it's Garuda Indonesia new livery with (unique) 60's paint. I was so surprised readily just like feeling awesome. The reason is for its talking case in some airliner group and that time I realized would taking part in.

Then as my turn was on, I queued at front line hurry, not missing my capture to intended aircraft. So, it was there.

As the aircraft was taking off, east the window Rinjani Mountain (the highest point in Lombok Island) stood robustly. Warming the morning as sunshine flashed the dawn melting the day. It's so wonderful airy morning scenery.

Inside the aircraft, that was really truly Garuda Experience. I felt the delicacy was tasty, seducing my appetite "Nasi Goreng" and three pieces of fruit, additionally two cups of milk fulfilling my morning breakfast.

Next, as we were on board, right in front of every passenger seat an AVOD system has been already integrated with touch control. Just pull down my finger and shifted it around the menu was ready. Pretty cool!

Currently there are some menus offered integrated to AVOD system such as Children World, Music, Film, Customer Survey, Travel Info, Latest Info, Games, and Magazine. Additionally a copy of personal magazine is offered freely and exactly I made it home :)

Thinking about Travel? Have just planned your destination to spot? And when you think to take it over Indonesia, you might probably think about Bali. But wait, Indonesia is not only Bali. It deals many things, many places, and even many tastes.

If you ever browsed for story revealing long years ago, and found a fascinating place in Indonesia where a former the Kingdom lady, Diana to have relaxing life, must refer to venue which is not in Bali or surrounding. It was in Moyo Island, Sumbawa.

But this chance I'm going to let you have deeper exploration near Moyo Island, not exactly over that place. In front of white shoreline there's new spot linked by a narrow strait. Samawa Seaside is called for cottage meanwhile the area refers to Lemona Beach or (and) Ai Loang, formerly put term.

The case of expression has two designations, both are most used. Ai Loang in the past was commonly practiced to point settlement over there, but soon has turned into Lemona. China : Cover and Content

Putting my eyes at corner of a bookstore for withered books, I personally find thing is just blast. Immediately my finger hands on pile of National Geographic mag shelf. Taking a minute to fall my choice on a dusty titled Shanghai and pay readily. (National Geographic Edition March 1994 Vol.185 No.3)

I'm not the one who emerge passion on East Asia study particularly China region, nor am I weird to have touch with the culture. It's any where and been long time here. Even some of my buddies are Chinese descent. It's not coincidence, I'm passionate to be a part of remarkable growth of dragon of its story witness.

Staying tune up on current China I often stun on ChinaDaily -leading China News in English- and sometimes looking up on XinHua on its origin language (though I'm not good Chinese speaker on field of prominent writing, speaking, and reading). But here I'm not going to explain the remarkable growth, you can find out due to its many sources.

The thing that fascinates me much ever more is its alphabet. Later I become going further into history, culture, social fluctuation, and being more then. Though some thousands sort of letter almost confuses many people, I feel it's about relief and the Chinese ancestors - I guess- were sophomore. The HanYu is complex and sometimes look complicated, but meaningful. It's adopted in Japan and Korea whereas.

Today it has been more convenient to those who utilize advanced technology practicing it as well as they start up gadget. For me, my Android is enough to run it as it's practically simple. Somehow, absorbing it in sizable storage is matter of time.

Sumbawa To Take Aim Future Development (Even Slowly)

Merely some of vehicles across over the town road with slow-medium speed. I prove the town side is peaceful livinghood, little on road accident though big motorcycle ownership. Crossing through not too wide pass way directs me to have measurement how it has been already. Nothing is too significant but slowly it throbs there's thing has been changing.

In some years ago the main road divided into two routes of 'bemo' local public transportation which is better than any of my experience in some big cities. Leastly the comfort and safe utilization is considerable for those which are both A and B type. But today advanced route management has impacted to much minimized accident risk.

Though modernization (even though slowly) has just been felt but some cultural icons are more likely to deplete its existence. I trace to make capture of "Dalam Loka Samawa" museum which is former Sumabawa Sultanate palace before independence, is still in suffering presence. Once when I was in History class during high school, my group took research in that field exploring the story and definitely figuring out how it was. Under construction was displayed on banner as Japan fund assistance to rebuild. It has just done, but almost no one visit to print how the native appreciate their ancestor nor is value of story. Instead the palace stands to wait when its story coming to end.

There is no dream without obstacle, but the optimistic and citizen support will fight any kinds of trouble.

Sumbawa today would like to gain higher achievement even though it will take quite time. To be honest, this middle southern Indonesia territory is not as famous as others of this nation. But someday -in case must be possible- Sumbawa would tend to capitalize self-resilience for its considered potency when the development grows steadily and consistently. Let we see someday.

Well, arrival in Mataram doesn't mean completing the trip instead I have to go further to the next and final approach, Sumbawa. A night is spent completely at my friend's house, meanwhile preparing tomorrow.

Late morning I and my friend go to have around the town (Mataram) seeking for ticket and withdraw little money, I realize it won't be enough soon. We pick three boxes of book that of my sister from freight bus by renting taxi, next aiming minibus office to pour this stuffs. My choice points out "Angaksa Jaya" travel service bringing up us to home.

At 2 pm we've been ready at the port and piling up our baggage onto the bus. Taking around 2 hours to complete throughout the island.

Just then we've arrived at Pelabuhan Kayangan, lot of buses and motorcycles mingle to flock over there. We wait to enter ferry entrance through pier, eventually taking onto by no more than an half hour till the last tie up.

Sumbawa Trip (Part I)

"MUDIK" is awesome term for those living far from hometown among strange livinghood. I'm included amongst taking part to celebrate Hari Raya in beloved hometown. I traced series of time I've been in Bogor for almost a year after previous return.

Well, let me tell you when it's started. The first of important plan is designing by what you gonna leave for. I decided to browse for online ticket of crazy airplane fare. Number of them nearly show tight competition to be passionate for passengers. But finance adjustment is fundamental consideration. And my choice felt to Batavia Air with flight number Y6-345 from Soekarno-Hatta Int.Airport to Ampenan Int.Airport Lombok (CGK-AMI) including transit at Juanda Int.Airport Surabaya.

I begin going by Trans Pakuan a public sorted-way bus owned by govt of Bogor. The price is IDR 3,000 taking around an half hour from Bubulak Main Station to Baranang Siang. If you ask how is it going on? I just concise it's average service just like common transportation in Bogor, but no longer applied as compared with Trans Jogja (this one is well organized, leastly better). Then continuing to approach airport by DAMRI bus (IDR 35,000) govt ownership, this one is sort of premium service supported comfortable seat and circumstance. Though it takes around two hour from Bogor to SHIA but I enjoy during the trip.

It's 12pm when I arrive but guess my flight will be 4.5 hours more. I suppose early appearance is the dawn before sun shines. So my immediate decision goes to upper floor where people make airy sight on hustle of jet. Terminal 1 C looks still like common alphabetic series building is similar. Taking some picts of airplanes by around an half hour is not completely enough but kinda tiring.

I go down for check in at orderly queue. Fortunately the officer accept my request having seat with window view so I may extend my cam screen out. Ok, one security screening has just passed, next to approach Boarding Pass check desk. But, I realize this wide view is suitable for free wi-fi service provided by shop kiosk surrounding.

When time is 3 pm on chime, no any longer postponed suspension I have to go through Boarding Pass toward Waiting Room. I get 5C point before entrance. After waiting for an hour, unhappy immediate announcement asking us to extend 20 minutes delay for preparation inside the aircraft. Ok, for several times I heard my friend complain this day I really experience what delay is. But I think I'm little better thought neighboring airlines put passenger for an hour delay.

Ok, it's almost 5pm as the stewardess announces we'll be taking off shortly. As soon as possible my preparation on camera is ready. This moment must not be forsaken to capture every depiction of hustle and white cloud.

Out the window clear yellowed sky spreading off over horizontal to line up before darkness. Today flight is safe enough without significant turbulence. When the aircraft is crossing right aloft Semarang the announcement of break fasting has just been voiced though there's no azan. Most of passengers readily disturb bread case and cup water ceiling cover.

About an half hour later we will be ready to land on Surabaya at raw night. The aircraft tends to touch on speedy landing going through asphalt and eventually approaching apron. Length of transit has been concise break only taking 20 minutes to avoid unnecessary delay due to brief fuel refill.

I'm waiting my sister Surabaya bound to Mataram trip after leaving Yogyakarat inside the aircraft. The stewardess doesn't allow transit passenger to go out the plane. So I'm still calming down inside.

No more than 20 minutes people are going to have seat and fasten the seat belt we'll be on sky soon. Well, the plane has taken off for 45 minutes fly to Selaparang airport Lombok. The airplane crosses over north shore side of Bali and leaning down to right side as it's passed away.

Ok, just then it's landing followed by Wings Air only few minutes after our turn. My friend has been out exit room, we walk through to have picking up after baggage claim. I'm in Lombok!

Cross Country Competition

"Happy Golden Anniversary PRAMUKA Indonesia"

My phone was vibrated as a SMS arrived asking me to represent my org IAAS taking part in a inter-univ-org cross country by PRAMUKA (Scout) my univ IPB. I was not alone but together with org-mate Doddi, Aero, Acep, and Andi. A night before due day we were asked to attend brief training how tomorrow would be. Well, just an hour we got some notified message and prepared for the dawn.

We arrived before sun raised and people had already flocked over Rektorat Field. But taking about an hour more it was just started. Officially Pak Rimbawan as Vice Rector of Student Affairs delivered morning speech merely around 15 minutes after doing exercise.

Our org was elected randomly to make challenging journey at first row. Starting from Zero Point to far miles (I didn't count actually, haha) unimaginedly how it would be. We wore white outfit instead other participants were dark costume. It was looked shiny so was little strange.

Crossing through inside campus rounding Fisheries and Marine Science Faculty then continued to border blocked fence we played this game. And adventure has just begun. We had to cross hazard ripple river moving to next camp. But, a camp was missed behind. We didn't realize we lost a way but fortunately successfully approaching the second one.

Go! many things ahead. Rice field and village were both the next scenery on sight. A little clue from villagers helped us to grab some points (Haha, it's not a cheating, guys!). Next point to be achieved was CIFOR IPB. We took rest as sun splashed right on warmed head. Having lunch, drinking fresh water, taking breath, and completely recharging our power. We did almost 4 hours tracing the way.

I have no much further explanation, but 4 hours more were such painful yet we were curious. The afternoon section was so confusing. Many signs were out so we needed to dig deeper thinking how to solve these.

At 5 pm we eventually finished the track and has been in yard. Well, curious announcement was the most waiting moment. And see, we didn't achieve any thing but printed certificate. It's OK, just try next year (surely?).

It was so tiring but awesome!

Food Sovereignty : Youth Responsibility

A Roadshow by Green Student Movement

It was class day when an invitation enclosed by a friend belonging to me. A Roadshow organized by Green Student Movement took responsibility of youth especially univ student to discuss hidden issue dealing with agriculture, farmer, and about economic prone. I represented ICSF where I'm on occupation to take a part and also definitely being good-listener and analyzer.

People were merely almost none as it was officially announced to be ready. An hour later some delegations from Wahana Lingkungan Hidup Indonesia (Walhi), Koalisi Anti Utang (KAU) and Serikat Petani Indonesia (SPI) appeared breaking the dusk. They introduced themselves and so did other participants. It took place at Balairung FAHUTAN (Faculty of Forestry) Bogor Agricultural University.

Roadshow picked IPB as the first university they came by and will continue to some universities over JaBoDeTaBek. Mbak Kartini from SPI delivered first presentation describing current hidden condition Indonesian farmer toward globalized economy tending to put them behind. Some policies were born but still assigns them in cage of poor. SPI claims themselves as pro-small farmer community who fights for farmer right. Mbak Kartini was clearly full of power to encourage youth being more responsible with unhappy farmer condition in Indonesia.

The second and last session introduced Detha from GSM as representative to call for petition. I was just kinda surprised as I know he was my school-mate from Sumbawa though he is a year younger than me. At least I have a compatriot in this activity, sounds great.

We were asked to give support for Food Sovereignty and Save Small Farmer Right through putting down signature and supporting phrase. Lastly was photo section when all participants could play on screen with their own action while hand showing off banner "I vote for Food Sovereignty" or "Saya Mendukung Kedaulatan Pangan" in Bahasa.

Seoul Women University Student Visit IPB

Cultural Exchange Program

For returned term this July has presented the Seoul Women University students visit IPB for cultural exchange program. Since agreement between two university established few years ago, Korean student have big deal to promote culture of Korea. And this session I and my friends get involved as committee to organize a week event.

We picked up ten SWU student at Soekarno-Hatta airport by using IPB Bus while they arrived at Terminal 2 after around 7 hours flight with Garuda Indonesia GA879. I was sincerely so surprised to prove they came with lot of stuffs bounded. When I tried to ask, they were associated with Canaan Foundation to volunteer in Sukabumi as running program after IPB session has timed up.

Some visits during their stay in IPB covered Bogor and Jakarta where we visited Indonesia cultural spot. Named for Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), Monumen Nasional (Monas), Kebun Raya Bogor (Bogor Botanical Garden) and many others uncounted. Though culture was our main focus, but agricultural spot was other which we took inside to be visited. We aimed Taiwan ICSD at Cikabayan Village near IPB Dramaga Campus.

Jogja International Airport strictly apply regulation by the law of transportation. The security is tight enough but never been paranoid so far you don't bring forbidden stuff. A worrying experience I got at this airport once I wear my backpack. The officer asked me till thrice for repetition of X-Ray checking as they make me such suspescious person. And geez! Some plastic bags piled inside the backpack chaotically for my immediate packing were suspicion. Ops! This really made me limped down.

But the officers were really friendly, they apologized for inconvenient. Well, it was my stupidity, too. So, just check carefully your belonging first before taking x-ray security, there might be unnecessary stuffs piled in.

TERMINAL 3 (T3)

I blogged in to post this kinda 'oldish' article but still encourageously pull me to write down. Actually I had been in passion to do thing just almost few months ago, but postponed for unreliable reason, fainted it away from my mind and just now has been revived.

Well, apparently airport means for plotting some airlines and taxing people go-and-in. But it soon extended to go beyond multifunctional venue. I see the development of the biggest airport in this country [read: Indonesia Raya Merdeka] is immediate thus SOETTA been widen since high demand and traffic growing faster every year. Indeed Airport Council International has put this airport as the Most Busiest Airport by Passenger Traffic 2010 in region of South East Asia followed by Suvarnabhumi Airport (Thailand) and Changi Airport (S'pore) respectively. Even so ranked 5th in Asia below Beijing Capital, Narita Tokyo, Hongkong Int., and Dubai Airport.

So, the presence of Terminal 3 for Low-Cost Airlines such Air Asia Indonesia (domestic) and Mandala Air is hoped to answer at least. But now only Air Asia (QZ) alone operates at T3 due to striking status of Mandala Air.

Though Terminal 3 has been operated, but apparently it's not such significant solving. Thus the government plans to build the new Terminal 4 in 2020 (long time later).

For design, T3 looks different rather than its ancestors, T1 and T3. which stand with very Indonesia form. The material concept is environmental friendly through its open-up light system with glass or other transparent stuffs surrounding. But it still looks ordinary from outside (design is plain) though inside is almost good.
